What is Global Health Mentorships?
Global Health Mentorships, or Global Health Me, is a global, group based mentorship program connecting Students and Young Professionals (SYPs) and experienced professionals from different fields within Global Health.
Getting a job in global health is challenging, often vacancies are not at entry level and applicants need specific skills and experiences in order to be considered for vacancies. As a student or young professional (SYP), it can be overwhelming to try to find your way in this multi-faceted field. Global Health Me is a mentorship program which facilitates communication between global health professionals and students and young professionals (SYPs) to help the next generation of global health professionals.
The program is not only designed for SYPs who are interested in a career in global health and are trying to navigate the field to find their strengths and interests, but also for mentors, who wish to contribute to shaping and guiding the next generation of global health professionals.
After a successful first pilot program in 2015, GHMe will run from August to December 2016.
Why should I join...
as a SYP?
As SYP, you get an opportunity to boost your global health career by networking with senior colleagues and peers and getting to know opportunities, events and projects that exist in global health. The more you contribute the more you will gain; we offer you a monthly platform for establishing research groups, project teams and innovative interventions.
as a Mentor?
As a mentor, you gain fresh vision, ideas and alternative solutions to global health challenges from students and young professionals.
All you need is to give few hours per month to join the interactive sessions and be ready to share your experiences and advice to junior colleagues from global health.
